Folklore

New for 2011 will be the Scottish Folklore OOAK range. This range will include Selkie, Kelpie and the Fey. These will be made in Sterling silver along with a charm representing the Folklore image, gemstones or gemstones and pearl beads. With each I'll have a small description of the Folklore image and the meaning behind each stone used.

Its so sad to see the snow melt away. I'm now missing its white sheets over the Ochils., now we've just got the brown / black sludge and ice, sheets and sheets of slippy ice. So to prevent me from fallen on my back end every time I take the dogs out, I've passed the task to Jonathan for today. This has left me tiding the house and now sitting watching Eclipse and making up my jewellery orders.

Also I have now made my Skye bracelet. I have had this design in my mind for months now and have just finished making it. The bracelet is made with Sterling silver, 6mm Aquamarine, 4mm moonstone , 4mm pearls and has a soaring eagle at the end. This was inspired back in September while we where on holiday in Gairloch. One day we took a drive to go down to Skye for the day and on the way I saw a White Tailed Eagle flying over the sea near Skye.
Photos of the bracelet will be posted soon

While I'm telling you about the new Skye bracelet I should tell you about the Scottish Moorland bracelet which I made in October. Again it was inspired while on holiday in Gairloch. We did a lot of walking while we were there in the health moorlands and in the hills ( I bagged my first Munro Beinn Eighe thou when I got up there I couldn't see anything with the fog)
Scottish Moorland Bracelet is made with Sterling Silver, Sterling silver Deer, wolf, Eagle charms, 4mm Faceted Amethyst, tigers eye and malachite.
Photos to come later.

These beautiful new bracelets are now part of my new range Celtic Romance
After re-reading for the third time now Juliet Mariller Sevenwater series I though I should bring together all the jewellery that I use my Celtic beads and create the Celtic Romance collection.
I love all her work and where she gets her influence from old folklore both Irish and Scottish.
Wactch her to see more items foe this range.

Snow Day

Another snow day and no work to go to.
This is what I've been up to today in between playing in the snow with the dogs.

Crystals and Ice

After three hours walking in the snow with the dogs and seeing the sun set and shining through the ice that's forming. I started to think of the crystals sitting in a tub that I've had no idea what to do with them. Until know.

I think these look beautiful strung in the middle of a silver chain.
'
Sitting on your neck they sparkel when the light hits them and they reminded me of the icicle's handing at my window.

Organza Flower

Well it's snow snow snow up here, so I'm sitting in and making some jewellery and flowers.

These are flowers made from organza material.
The edges have been burned next to one of the many candles in my living room. Layered up and stitched together.
The gold one o the left has been attached with a ribbon to three rows of gold cream glass pearl to make a lovely bracelet.
The first frost came this week and the idea of winter and Christmas (Yule) is starting to sink in. I've started doing my Christmas shop and making some lovely jewellery for this festive time.
Keep popping back here to find out my new designs

Natures Touch

Here are a few designs from my Natures Touch collection that where on sale at Handmade, Aberfolye

Winter Blues

Ok this is my first blog.

Is it just me or is the wet, windy damp weather just getting everyone down. I've got to say normally I love the change in the seasons but I feel like I want to slip into hibernation.

I've being sitting with mu beads all week and have not made a thing. I keep wondering into the kitchen and making wintery muffins and trying to make home baked dog treats. So far out of three recipes the boys like onlt one - bad breath biscuits (I also made ginger muffins and mint and parsley muffins but these where from a vegan doggie recipes)

If any one has any other recipes that have worked well let me know please.
